At Sooper Credit Union, we believe in giving back and supporting our community. The SCU Community Foundation provides a sustainable and practical way to focus the philanthropic efforts supported by Sooper Credit Union exclusively on charitable and educational purposes.
The SCU Community Foundation was incorporated in January 2009 by the Sooper Credit Union Board of Directors. It was granted 501(c)(3) designation by the Internal Revenue Service in April 2009. The Foundation Board is comprised of community leaders from Arvada and credit union employees.

A new state of Colorado tax donation program allows those who file to use some or all of any refund to directly support the important work of the SCU Community Foundation. To designate the Foundation, use our registration number 20103006042 on the Voluntary Contributions Schedule when you file. Access the form here.

Each year, the SCU Community Foundation provides $15,000 in educational scholarships to members of Sooper CU. The Foundation also assists dozens of community efforts every year, from food banks and shelters to public events. Since its inception, the Foundation has been responsible for distributing nearly $200,000 in scholarships, donations, and sponsorships to hundreds of organizations.

The SCU Community Foundation has announced they are awarding $15,000 in scholarships and honoring five deserving students. The scholarships will range from $2,500-$5,000. Online applications closed on March 1, 2024.
Applicants must be Sooper Credit Union members as of December 31, 2023. Applications are accepted from current college/university students or high school seniors accepted to an accredited two- or four-year college/university.
Our 2024 Scholarship Honorees will be announced in May.
