Sooper Credit Union Announces Appointment of Carrie Langgard as President and Chief Executive Officer

ARVADA, Colo. – January 6, 2022 – Sooper Credit Union, a $536M Colorado financial institution, is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has appointed Carrie Langgard as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2022. She succeeds Dan Kester, who previously announced his retirement from the credit union.

“Carrie was named as successor by Sooper Credit Union’s Board of Directors in 2019. She has the skills, experience, and team to lead this credit union to its next chapter of growth and success,” said Dan Kester, Sooper Credit Union outgoing CEO.

Ms. Langgard began her career with Sooper Credit Union in 2014 as Chief Financial Officer and was promoted to Executive Vice President and successor to the CEO in 2019. Prior to joining Sooper Credit Union, Carrie held several executive and senior leadership roles at Denver area credit unions during her more than 25 years in the credit union and cooperative industries. She also holds a BBA, Accounting and Finance from the University of Regina – Luther College and a BS, Accounting and Economics from the University of Phoenix.

Ms. Langgard currently serves on the boards of credit union and philanthropic organizations including Aux, CU Prodigy, InNetwork and the Porter-Billups Leadership Academy. Carrie is well known within the credit union movement as an experienced leader and is a national and regional speaker for credit union movement events.

Her leadership and individual contributions to the credit union over her tenure have led to exponential growth in recent years.
