Overdraft Protection

Sooper Credit Union gives you peace of mind with Overdraft Protection.*

Overdraft Protection will help you avoid an overdraft on your checking account. In other words, we have your back. Choose either a Personal Line of Credit or Courtesy Pay. With Overdraft Protection, we’ll authorize and pay overdrafts for checks and other transactions made using your checking account number, automatic bill payments, and recurring debit card transactions.

Personal Line of Credit

Overdraft Protection is now more convenient than ever with a Personal Line of Credit from Sooper Credit Union. Do business with confidence in the knowledge that Sooper Credit Union will cover any transaction up to your available funds or credit limit with your Personal Line of Credit.

Count on competitive rates every day.

Courtesy Pay

Courtesy Pay protects you and your checking account. Through Courtesy Pay, Sooper Credit Union may cover transactions presented for payment that would otherwise be returned for Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF). Instead of returning the overdraft charge to the merchant, we may cover it up to your approved limit based upon your relationship with Sooper Credit Union. Courtesy Pay helps you avoid the embarrassment and penalties often associated with bounced checks and declined transactions. You’ll be able to withdraw cash and make ATM or other transactions even when you do not have available funds in your account. Transactions covered through Courtesy Pay include digital payments known as Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments, checks, one-time debit card transactions, and ATM transactions.

To opt in to one-time debit card transactions and ATM transactions, download and complete our Overdraft Protection Opt-In Form and return to us:

  • By Mail: Sooper Credit Union, 5005 W 60th Ave, Arvada, CO 80003

  • In Person: Stop by a branch location.

Peace of mind comes easier with Overdraft Protection.

*We will charge a fee of up to $30 each time we pay an overdraft created by check, other transactions made using your checking account number, automatic bill payments, every day debit card transactions, and ATM transactions. Once an overdraft has occurred, you are obligated to bring your account to a positive balance within 30 days. We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined. Sooper Credit Union typically does not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing, you are not making regular deposits, or you have had excessive overdrafts. An account in good standing has no delinquent or charged-off loans and a positive balance in all accounts.
